Description
This oil painting (canvas on cardboard, 40x30 cm) is a still life in the naive art style with elements of stylized Russian motifs. The central subject is a white vase with black polka dots, reminiscent of a birch tree trunk - a symbol of Russian nature. The vase holds vivid roses painted in impasto: red, orange, yellow, and purple, like flashes of color against the rhythmic, monochrome background. The vase stands on a surface resembling birch bark: white with black circles, echoing the natural marks of a birch tree. The background features vertical stripes and stylized birch trunks, decorated with circles of various sizes, creating a dynamic rhythm and an intriguing visual effect. The vase appears as both a part of the birch trunks and a unique accent. This painting is ideal for those who appreciate unique color accents, love modern interiors with bright details, as well as for collectors and office spaces. Perfect for living rooms, kitchens, childrens rooms, or creative offices. This still life lifts the mood and adds personality and energy to any space. The artwork will be sent in a box.
Presentation
Maria Melkova is a contemporary artist whose enchanting works bring fairy tales to life from the heart of Siberia. As a pupil of the esteemed Russian artist S.E. Sochivko, Maria has developed a distinctive style characterized by bright colors and rich compositions. Her art, often described as "dopamine painting," is a vivid celebration of life and imagination.
In the past year alone, Maria has participated in over 12 group exhibitions across Siberia and the Urals. Her works have found homes in private collections in five countries worldwide. Inspired by naive art and personal experiences, her paintings weave together fairy tale motifs and childhood memories, creating multilayered pieces that captivate with their vibrant energy.
Maria's creations are dedicated to the joy of life and carefree childhood, embodying the belief that art can bring light and inspiration to everyone. Each piece invites viewers to reconnect with simple joys and feel the warmth and love she infuses into her work.
Convinced that art is a transformative tool for the human spirit, Maria aims to evoke profound emotions—joy, sadness, nostalgia, and hope—leading to conscious reflection and a unique "awakening of the soul." This emotional and psychological impact is at the core of her artistic mission.
Maria delights in seeing her paintings travel the world. This year, her works have been showcased in various cities across China, securing second place at an international exhibition in Nepal and third place in Cambodia. As an artist rooted in Siberia, Maria Melkova continues to enchant global audiences with her imaginative and colorful art.
