Description
This painting is a vivid representation of one of the most recognizable archetypes in Russian culture. The scene immediately immerses viewers in the atmosphere of a traditional folk tale, where every detail in the huts interior and every character has a clear meaning and function. At the center is Baba Yaga, the iconic Russian witch, guardian of the forest and keeper of ancient wisdom. She is depicted inside her hut, surrounded by animals: watchful cats, a mysterious owl symbolizing wisdom, and a frog - a frequent helper in Russian fairy tales. Each of these elements is meaningful and rooted in classic folklore. The interior is filled with practical household items: old cookware, wooden shelves lined with herbs and potions, and boiling cauldrons. Fly agaric mushrooms simmer over the fire, referencing their symbolic place in Slavic mythology as elements of magic and transformation. Baba Yaga is busy at her craft, and the viewer gets the sense of being a participant in this dynamic, magical process. The painting conveys a sense of action and anticipation, as if the story is just beginning. Executed in a distinctive naive art style, this work enhances the fairytale atmosphere and evokes childhood memories. The painting will resonate with anyone who values cultural heritage and appreciates Russian folklore. As a decorative piece, it brings warmth, character, and a reminder of the importance of wisdom and the ability to make thoughtful decisions in unusual situations. The artwork will be sent in a tube.

Sochivko, Maria has developed a distinctive style characterized by bright colors and rich compositions. Her art, often described as "dopamine painting," is a vivid celebration of life and imagination.
In the past year alone, Maria has participated in over 12 group exhibitions across Siberia and the Urals. Her works have found homes in private collections in five countries worldwide. Inspired by naive art and personal experiences, her paintings weave together fairy tale motifs and childhood memories, creating multilayered pieces that captivate with their vibrant energy.
