Description
Quiet Architecture is an original contemporary abstract painting by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026. Measuring 100 × 60 cm, this acrylic painting on canvas explores the meeting point between geometric structure and spontaneous expression.
I created this work around a simple idea: how a few strong lines can organize an entire composition while still leaving space for movement and imperfection. The central vertical form intersects with a horizontal passage, suggesting fragments of architecture without representing a specific place.
The palette combines warm beige, ivory, off-white, greige, taupe, stone grey and soft brown with deeper accents of charcoal, espresso brown, dark grey and muted blue-grey. The contrast between luminous neutral areas and darker structural elements gives the painting both depth and a strong visual presence.
I built the surface gradually using professional acrylic paints, palette knives and brushes, combining layering, glazing, scraping, dry-brush techniques and expressive gestural marks. Some layers were partially removed and rebuilt, allowing earlier colors and textures to remain visible.
From a distance, feels calm and structured. Up close, scraped surfaces, broken edges, overlapping marks and subtle variations of color reveal a more spontaneous character.
For me, the painting is about the relationship between order and intuition, geometry and gesture, strength and imperfection. The architectural forms provide stability, while the textured surface keeps the composition alive and constantly changing with the viewer's distance and light.
This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, painted entirely by hand in 2026. The canvas is stretched on wooden stretcher bars and ready to hang. It is signed on the front and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
