Viktor Dembytskyi

A chamber expressive-abstract composition, written at the intersection of figurative art and pure abstraction. The work does not have a direct realistic plot, instead it appeals to the emotions, associations and internal state of the viewer.
The dynamic rhythm of the lines and the layering of paint create the illusion of continuous movement and transformation of forms.
A complex play of images. Despite the abstract nature, biomorphic and anthropomorphic silhouettes are guessed in the interweaving of lines. In the central part of the canvas, one can see the outlines of human figures, faces or masks, which seem to dissolve in the dense vegetation or forest surroundings. This creates a feeling of unity of man with primordial nature or the chaos of existence.
The space of the picture is planar, but due to the multi-layering (where dark strokes alternate with the light background of the picture and bright color accents) an internal drama and multi-visual depth arise.
The work conveys a sense of primal power, subconscious search, and existential anxiety. It does not provide ready-made answers, but invites the viewer to a dialogue where everyone can see their own hidden plot — from a mythical forest to the complex labyrinths of the human soul.
