Description
Two canvases side by side, a single color, and a conversation that engages.
In this series, Moi. assembles his works in diptychs, developed in several formats. On one side, the architecture: a empty space, walls, pure lines, nothing more. On the other, the abstraction: a plunging view of the sea, where the sparkle of the waves and the drawing of the foam repeat until dizziness, in a true mise en abyme.
One is built, the other is moving. One retains, the other surges. Yet, they respond to each other. The wall calls the horizon, the wave softens the angle, and it is in the interval between the two that the gaze finds its place.
The color, worked with patient care, unites each pair in a single tone. The flat areas, faithful to the artist's writing, allow each nuance time to settle. These diptychs impose nothing: they propose a face-to-face, then a return to oneself. An introspection in two parts.
Presentation
Me.
At the edge of its sunny beaches, Sara Bagot turns into Me. A naked painter of artifices, she willingly trades artistic aura and conventions for a softness to create in a two-piece swimsuit.
Born in Toulouse in 1990, it is in Andorra - cradled by the venerable silence of the mountains - that she now holds a workshop; a working environment which is reminiscent of its original fascination with architecture. On the canvas, the artist honors the discipline of buildings whose raw shapes and pure lines make the villa with swimming pool the temple of the present moment and of beautiful solitude.
But art is to the public what isolation is to creation. Necessary. In 2016, Moi decided to share his work. Since then, she has multiplied exhibitions and collaborations whose hope is to unite art with our daily lives. On the back of a motorcycle helmet, in the hollow of a pocket, on the rounded edge of a coffee table, any support is good to paint to appease the viewer who in front of his works then implores: "Me , talk to me again".
Beyond our century at high speed, the artist therefore offers a moment of pause in the hollow of his pastel waves. Carried by a devastating second degree, she paints, not disarmed with daring, this world of abstract and figuration of which she alone has inspiration.
