Description
What if, one day, the idyllic landscape of the Tuscan countryside became the setting for an extraordinary event? Among golden hills, vineyards, and endless flowering fields, where a cow peacefully grazes, mysterious unidentified flying objects suddenly appear. From the glowing body of one of the flying saucers, a beam of light reaches down and lifts the animal off the ground. It seems that a genuine intergalactic abduction is taking place right in the heart of peaceful Tuscany! Against the backdrop of an old villa, slender cypress trees, and sun-drenched hills, the scene feels at once fantastical, amusing, and surprisingly harmonious. It is as if an alien invasion were simply another little episode in the everyday life of this extraordinary world.
The painting's special charm lies in its rich decorative texture. Its surface is adorned with mosaic elements and semi-precious stones, including red coral, amber, hematite, turquoise, variscite, and carnelian. Their natural hues come together in a shimmering palette of gold, copper, olive green, red, and turquoise. The sun is made from golden mirror, reflecting and refracting light and changing its radiance depending on the surrounding illumination. Additional golden elements decorate the lower part of the composition, shimmering and catching the light differently as the viewing angle changes. This makes the artwork seem almost alive, responding to the movement of light and the viewer.
The intricate spirals, ornamental patterns, and abundance of golden tones evoke the aesthetic of Gustav Klimt, where decoration becomes an essential part of the artistic expression. Yet here, classical ornamental beauty meets the imagination of contemporary pop culture and the imagery of science fiction. A traditional landscape becomes the setting for a cosmic adventure, while a familiar rural idyll takes on a completely unexpected storyline.
This artwork exists somewhere between a landscape painting, a decorative wall panel, and a fantastical art object. It invites us to look at the familiar world with humour and curiosity, reminding us that even in the most peaceful and picturesque corner of the planet, something utterly impossible can happen.
Presentation
Irina: "I am full-time artist. I find my happiness in doing art. Art is a part of my soul, my energy, my vision of the world. I consider myself a multi-faceted artist, I like to experiment with materials. I realized that I can create beauty not only with paints. I create three-dimensional artworks with volumetric elements. I work in two directions: mosaic paintings and wall sculpture art. I use decorative found objects, mosaic, plaster, wood, shells, crystals, gemstones, anything that can realize my ideas. My art is full of life and joy. The main theme is a Woman, her life, thoughts, feelings, relationships with people and the world".
