Description
The artwork presents a stark and evocative depiction of an abstract urban landscape against a tumultuous backdrop. Dominated by a bold, deep red sky, the scene is filled with a haunting yet captivating energy. The foreground is populated by a series of geometric shapes and forms that suggest the outlines of a modern city skyline, rendered in muted tones of blue, grey, and white. These forms are rough and textured, with a palpable sense of decay and fragmentation that hints at the passage of time and the wear of history. The juxtaposition of the vibrant, almost blood-red background with the more subdued, dilapidated cityscape creates a dynamic tension within the piece. This contrast serves to highlight the ephemeral nature of human constructions against the relentless, unyielding canvas of the cosmos. Each structure within the city is unique––some tall and slender, others short and stout––lending a sense of individuality amidst the collective degradation. The use of light and shadow is masterful, giving depth to the forms and enhancing the three-dimensionality of the scene. The textural variance throughout the painting invites the viewer to experience not just the visual but also the tactile quality of the work. The application of color appears almost distressed, with patches of paint layered and scraped away, revealing glimpses of the underlying layers. This method instills a sense of rawness and authenticity, as if the viewer is bearing witness to the remnants of a once-thriving metropolis now succumbing to the ravages of time. Overall, this artwork is a compelling exploration of urban decay and the relentless progression of time, marrying a visceral, almost primal aesthetic with a thoughtful, cerebral execution. Its unique blend of vibrant colors and textural diversity create a piece that is both visually arresting and deeply thought-provoking.
Presentation
By using a mixed technique that combines acrylic, oil, gauche, tempera, to the praxis of collage, it gives life to the artworks with a dreamlike and vibrant scenario that imprison on the canvas tracks of the real and of metaphorical evocations. Rhythm, pattern and balance is important in the paintings. Images and text fragments sticks out, but don't give the viewer all information, just like dreams and memories its fragmented and fuzzy, just gives a glimpse of what have happened.
Using collage is influenced and refer to a typically Dadaist aesthetics, but at the same time they're purged of the Dada polemic force and iconoclastic fury. In fact, the paintings colour, cut-outs, symbols of a mysterious past, like of the present, slowly emerge on the surface in a continuum of summons and recovery, composing and compressing themselves into new formal structures capable of returning the memory of reasons and feelings, and emotionally closer to the Rauschenberg's memory to aim for a particular text and image to have an underlying meaning.
Documenting the lives and our footprint through time and what the future has to show, history repeats itself. This has happened, mixed with a dreamy, ethereal world.
