Description
In this series and contrary to the “Solarisations” series, post production is reduced to a minimum. The good part is made essentially with the raw image and without artifice. It is therefore important in the works presented in this series, that the framing is instantaneous and precise. The same goes for the choice of subject, so as not to lapse into the anecdotal. We can therefore assimilate the images compiled here to “one shot”, without concession, with an undisguised plastic propensity. Shutters. A complex image where sheets of iridescent Plexiglas reflect reflections of bright colors on the facade elements of a bourgeois house in Provence. The resulting effect shows a particular and disturbing work, where the mind loses its bearings in the face of these modified colors. The right part of the image is occupied by a potted shrub that casts a spooky shadow on the wall of the house.
Presentation
As a long time independent professional photographer in the industrial and advertising field, he finally takes the time for his personal research focused on color and matter, and the resulting atmosphere is always guided by the rigor of the composition, and often close to painting.
His perception of the final image must be for him a link between the subject and the experience of each one, that is to say a link of common places of the collective memory and their visual interpretation.
As many of his images offer several readings to the eye, we can say that he applies himself to show facets of elements that we are used to looking at in their entirety.
In conclusion, Christian Lefèvre considers that each of his current works is the story of a little story playing its own music, and where everyone will be able to escape according to his mood.
