Description

This striking black-and-white photograph captures the elegance of contemporary architecture through a play of curves and lines. The image focuses on a sweeping colonnade with uniformly spaced vertical slats creating a rhythmic, almost musical pattern against a crisp, shadowed background. Behind this dynamic structure, a cylindrical building looms with its surface subdivided into a grid of windows, echoing themes of order and precision. The contrast between the roundness of the building and the linear perspective of the colonnade is visually arresting. The high degree of tonal contrast between the stark white structures and the deep black sky intensifies the drama and modernity encapsulated in this composition. This artwork uniquely highlights the harmony of geometry and form in urban architecture, inviting the viewer to appreciate the sophisticated interplay of light and shadow.

From the series "Miami Skin". Edition of 5. Miami Skin is one of the few “Still photo” project realized only in Black and White. It’s not a traditional collection of photos about the architecture of Miami and Miami Beach. It’s rather a quick journey between its own skin from the Art Deco District to the modern skyline of our days. Stripes, circles, squares, reflections show only some details of important buildings but they all have the power to arise emotions and unexpected shapes and volumes inside us. A final touch is reserved for nature skin from the ocean to the tropical vegetation. You need now to make an effort of imagination to discover and compose all pictures and eventually frame it in your own mind. Luca Artioli, an artist, poet and photographer recognized in Europe and around the world, has worked for years in the most vital artistic circles of world culture, such as La Scala Opera House in Milan, The Wolfsonian Museum in Miami during Art Basel, Hermès in Paris… Artioli has evolved over the years as an artist who is appreciated for both his skill with the camera as well as the pen.
