Description
"In 'The Dollhouse' (2012), we delve into a 10-part sequential narrative set in an adult-sized dollhouse that belongs to none other than Barbie and Ken, the iconic couple and plastic embodiments of Western culture. Among all childhood symbols, Barbie epitomizes the notion that beauty is the ultimate attribute, critical for achieving power and happiness. Her co-star, Ken, ensnared in a forced marriage for over three decades, embarks on a journey to discover his true self and finally express his individuality. Meanwhile, Barbie's destiny takes a dark turn as she grapples with her own worth and fleeting significance. This thought-provoking series, 'The Dollhouse,' is presented on a grand scale and is a notable inclusion in the Bogota PhotoMuseo collection."
