Description
Singularity. A point in space-time where gravity becomes infinite. A technological future where artificial intelligence surpasses humans. A system where the slightest change can have big consequences.
A universe plunged into darkness, at the crossroads of theater and cinema, in which time and space cease to exist to leave room only for the hero. This hero, a person like you and me, overcomes his fears and his societal taboos by discovering himself, by abandoning himself to the gaze of the spectator.

Everything that once seemed substantial loses its importance and becomes a shadow unless admired.

Accompanied by one or more window mannequins, these, like the term “singularity”, can take on several meanings. Multiple metaphors representing the shadow of the model, societal indifference or even the archetype of the idealized body.

In his 14th collection, "Un Anonyme Nu Dans Le Salon", Idan Wizen explores the singularity of the individual and society through a vast photographic series. The project celebrates the diversity and authenticity of humanity, challenging the aesthetic standards imposed by contemporary society.

Wizen aims to create the largest photographic series ever made, capturing the nudity and diversity of thousands of volunteers. Each shot testifies to the universal beauty of the models, transcending the restrictive criteria of our time.

The artist seeks to heighten the authenticity of each model, breaking social masks to expose the simple, naked beauty of human nature. The photographs are distinguished by their originality, dynamism and naturalness, creating a gallery of portraits that celebrates the individuality and universality of humanity.

“Who’s That Nude in the Living Room?” opposes the standardization of contemporary beauty criteria, highlighting multitude, variety, strength of character, movement, the surprising and the natural. This profound artistic exploration of the place of the body, of being and of true essence occurs in a context marked by the health crisis, inviting the viewer to reflect on their perception of beauty and humanity.

The Singularity series received an honorable mention in 2022 by International photography awards.

Presentation

Idan Wizen is a Franco-Israeli artist and photographer, founder of the project “Un Anonyme Nu Dans Le Salon". His photographs have been exhibited in Paris, New York, Miami, Osaka…

In 2013, he won the award for best male nude photo at the International PhotoShootAwards. Subsequently, the photographs of the project have received more than 60 awards.

Idan was born on October 26, 1984 in Tel Aviv. In 2002, he joined the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas to begin studies in economics and management. But very quickly, the artist realizes that his favorite fields are art, photography and advertising.

He then joined Sup de Pub, from which he graduated with a Master's degree in artistic direction in 2007. In 2008, he also obtained his Master's degree at the “University of the arts of London".

Back in Paris, after a brief experience as a marketing manager in cosmetics, Idan Wizen founded a communication agency, Studio Idan, working on print, the web and photography.

Alongside this activity, Idan began to photograph, and so on April 18, 2009, the project “Un Anonyme Nu Dans Le Salon" was founded. His management of light, the unique rendering of photos, the ability to make anyone look beautiful, and the confidence of the models that he manages to gain very quickly, make more and more people come to pose for the project, which has more than 2400 participants to date.

In addition to the “Who is this naked in the living room?" project that he continues to develop, Idan Wizen devotes himself to advertising and fashion photography and other artistic projects, such as Hinders, Into The Box, The World We Left Them, etc.
