Description
Idan Wizen's "Virtual Street Art" collection boldly merges urban landscapes with the essence of the human form. In this avant-garde series, Wizen superimposes nude figures from his "Purity" series (part of the "An Anonymous Nude in the Living Room" project) onto architectural city photographs, transforming these bodies into digital street art on building facades.
By juxtaposing the hard lines of urban architecture with the softness of human skin, these works provoke deep reflection on the perception of nudity in public spaces. They highlight a sharp distinction between the commonplace depictions of violence and the often taboo representations of the naked body, shedding light on societal values and reactions to different types of imagery. "Virtual Street Art" does more than celebrate the human form; it critically examines cultural and social norms regarding what is deemed acceptable in public discourse. By integrating nudity into the urban landscape, Wizen confronts societal taboos and stimulates essential discussions on the boundaries of artistic freedom and censorship in both public and artistic spheres.
Presentation
Idan Wizen is a Franco-Israeli artist and photographer, founder of the project “Un Anonyme Nu Dans Le Salon". His photographs have been exhibited in Paris, New York, Miami, Osaka…
In 2013, he won the award for best male nude photo at the International PhotoShootAwards. Subsequently, the photographs of the project have received more than 60 awards.
Idan was born on October 26, 1984 in Tel Aviv. In 2002, he joined the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas to begin studies in economics and management. But very quickly, the artist realizes that his favorite fields are art, photography and advertising.
He then joined Sup de Pub, from which he graduated with a Master's degree in artistic direction in 2007. In 2008, he also obtained his Master's degree at the “University of the arts of London".
Back in Paris, after a brief experience as a marketing manager in cosmetics, Idan Wizen founded a communication agency, Studio Idan, working on print, the web and photography.
Alongside this activity, Idan began to photograph, and so on April 18, 2009, the project “Un Anonyme Nu Dans Le Salon" was founded. His management of light, the unique rendering of photos, the ability to make anyone look beautiful, and the confidence of the models that he manages to gain very quickly, make more and more people come to pose for the project, which has more than 2400 participants to date.
In addition to the “Who is this naked in the living room?" project that he continues to develop, Idan Wizen devotes himself to advertising and fashion photography and other artistic projects, such as Hinders, Into The Box, The World We Left Them, etc.
