Description
This work is currently available as a dibond print as well as a light box (print on plexiglass) in the following 3 dimensions: - 75 x 150 cm - 100 x 200 cm - 125 x 250 cm. "Each of the facades that surround me is a barrier to my curiosity, to my "voyeurism". I like to observe people, in the street, in the metro, alone, in numbers, each in their own universe... I like our differences, those that make you like green and me like pink. I also like to discover the other side of a decor, to finally know what is hidden behind this or that door, this or that wall, this or that person... From voyeurism to 1/10th is a photographic series where the main character is plural, where architecture and humans play an essential role. It is a real "slice" of life... Here photography is both raw material and purpose. For each of the works presented, it is necessary to count at least several thousand photos / models / textures which will be one by one, cut out, deformed, calibrated and reimplanted in a staging, like a puzzle." - Nicolas Boutruche
Presentation
Nicolas Boutruche is a French photographer and director.
As a child, he was quickly attracted by photography and drawing. Nicolas did scientific studies but finished university quite quickly. He forged a report card and joined cinema school.
After shooting several short movies, he directed hundreds of music and corporate commercials. But he felt the need to express his own emotions therefore Nicolas stopped working for others and left the world of cinema for photography.
The French photographer is like a storyteller and has created many dynamic works filled with humor. They are about human architecture and childhood.
He displayed a first photo series about "weightlessness" in 2009, where color and movement combine to create extraordinary images. Six years later, Nicolas began a second series called “Du Voyeurisme au 1/10e". He received the photography of the year award in 2016, in the category of digital creation.
