Description

With the series LES EMPILEMENTS, Claude Courtecuisse reveals himself to be a true poet of objects. His unique work invites us to a poetic exploration of the most everyday elements, transforming them into true works of art.

Using a myriad of objects that surround us—glasses, corks, pens, children's toys, candles, light bulbs—the artist composes meticulous stacks. He then photographs them, always from the front and at the same scale, to assemble series of 35 shots. These series then become witnesses and the memory of these ephemeral towers, capturing the fragility and beauty of these instantaneous constructions.

This work of assembly and composition, focused on color, transparency, and material, leads us to perceive everyday objects from a new perspective, revealing the richness and fantasy hidden in the banal. Claude Courtecuisse thus offers us a vision where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and where each object conceals an infinite potential for stories and forms.
