Description

This captivating artwork features a striking black and white photograph showcasing an architectural marvel composed of repetitive arches. The symmetry and precision in the array of arched structures create a mesmerizing pattern, drawing the viewer's eye toward the intricate interplay of light and shadow. The texture and depth are accentuated by the monochromatic palette, emphasizing the architectural sophistication and elegance. Each arch frames windows, inviting viewers to ponder the hidden stories within. The image inspires a sense of order and tranquility, despite its complex appearance. The framing and composition of this piece highlight the photographer's masterful eye for balance and perspective, making it a testament to architectural beauty and photographic artistry.

Presentation

Mark Elst was born and raised in the Netherlands, currently living at the Cote d’Azur. For multiple years he has been established as a photographer working throughout Europe, for large architectural firms, interior designers, and other craftsmen. In his youth, he was already fascinated by buildings, as a child he used to go out and discover old ruined, and vacant buildings.

In his photographs, the use of light, composition, and human interaction is key to delivering strong, convincing photos. Mark has expanded his work with photography of everyday life and nature, photos which he takes when he is traveling abroad for his clients.
