This striking black and white photograph captures the imposing facade of a vintage theater. The prominent architectural feature is its vertical marquee, emblazoned with the word "JOY" in bold, retro typography. The letters command attention, creating a nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of mid-20th century design. The structure's sleek lines and the play of light and shadow on the corrugated metal surface add a dynamic visual texture. The juxtaposition of the sign against the backdrop of bare steel beams suggests a narrative of past vibrancy amidst urban decay. This artwork uniquely blends elements of industrial robustness and historical elegance, encapsulating a moment where the passage of time meets the enduring appeal of classic architectural design. The overall composition is a compelling tribute to the theater's cultural legacy, resonating with echoes of a bygone era.
Presentation
Starting during his industrial design studies where he connected with shape, structure and movement, Juan Pablo’s visual journey is quite unique. His body of work explores new vanguards and the boundaries of his own imagination. Bold images taken from his particular world give us expert photographs and videos where fashion, color and expression collide.
His work has been featured in Vogue Mexico, L’Officiel, Elle Arabia and Elle Decor magazines; creating content for luxury brands like Burberry and Montblanc; and in public exhibitions presented by Ralph Pucci International and by Miami Beach Convention Center during Art Basel. Juan Pablo is rapidly becoming a favorite photographer for Miami’s top creators and artists.
