Description
This artwork presents a striking fusion of geometry and abstraction, distinguished by its sharp, minimalist design. Central to the composition is a tall, rectangular grid structure adorned with variously colored squares and rectangles—blue, green, red, and black—imbuing the piece with dynamic energy. The grid, positioned against a stark two-toned background of gray and black, offers a sense of depth and dimensionality. A sinuous white line weaves through the composition, adding a fluid contrast to the rigid geometry and inviting viewers to explore the tension between order and chaos. The use of negative space is masterful, allowing the viewer's imagination to travel beyond the confines of the canvas. This artwork exemplifies the power of simplicity and abstraction, where form and color interplay to evoke curiosity and introspection.
Presentation
Rusa Tavartkiladze is a female Georgian artist born in 1990 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her practice moves along the edge of modernism and its afterlives. Her own artworks push beyond formalism, rooted in modernist foundations. They expand toward humor, philosophy, sarcasm, and mysticism. Each piece becomes a space where rational structures meet ambiguity, where order dissolves into play, and where meaning flickers between irony and transcendence.
