Description
This limited-edition vintage photomontage print juxtaposes 1960s analog family photographs with archival graphic drawings, embedding a personal memory directly into the historic architecture of Grodno. The artwork continues a series dedicated to this ancient city deeply linked with the artist's family. In this piece, historical architecture is presented as a space where the local landscape and the stone chronicle of native places serve as a ground for finding an inner anchor and preserving family heritage.
The composition is based on a snapshot from the family archive, capturing the artist's mother's family on the iconic descent to the Neman River. Within the digital plane, this private narrative merges with antique drawings of the Kalozha Church—one of the oldest surviving Eastern Orthodox structures in Eastern Europe, dating back to the 12th century and celebrated for its unique architectural anatomy. The artist preferred to depict the structure not in its modern state, but closer to its original, ancient appearance prior to later reconstructions, recreating yet another historical layer of memory. Against this monumental backdrop, the fragile, fleeting moments in the lives of her loved ones acquire a solid foundation within the city's architecture, preserving the living connection between generations and keeping it from oblivion.
The artwork incorporates historical photographs of Grodno, kindly provided by local history archives.
TECHNIQUE, AUTHENTICITY & SHIPPING
The artwork is printed on a premium matte Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm paper using archival museum-grade pigment inks, ensuring exceptional longevity and color fidelity.
EACH PRINT IS ACCOMPANIED by dual documentation—a USA Gallery Certificate of Authenticity and an original, hand-signed Artist Certificate sent directly from the artist's studio—with a matching security code permanently linking the print and both documents to confirm its provenance and absolute authenticity.
THE PHYSICAL PRINT ITSELF is not hand-signed on the front; instead, the unique security code and edition number are hand-written in pencil on the reverse side. It ships securely rolled in a heavy-duty tube, with the hand-signed Artist Certificate dispatched separately from the artist's studio via registered mail within 7 days and arriving later (a few days or weeks after the print). An ideal acquisition for modern art enthusiasts, this piece offers a refined aesthetic and profound narrative depth, making it a valuable addition to any contemporary collection.

Presentation
Ines Fragm is a Belarusian-born visual artist with a professional background in architecture. Her work has been presented in international projects including Palimpsest of Memory by Culturally Arts Collective and Radiant Horizons by Sfumato Art Creatives in the United States. In 2025, she was selected for the Third and Final December Selection of the No Name Collective Gallery Challenge in London. Her work has also appeared in 101 Artbook – Collage Edition by Arts to Hearts Project and Photo Trouvée Magazine.
Working with digital collage and mixed media, Ines Fragm explores family, cultural, historical, and architectural memory. Her practice grew from a search for continuity, local cultural roots, and an inner sense of belonging in an era of global social instability.
Drawing on more than two decades of professional experience in architecture, Ines Fragm treats buildings not simply as structures, but as vessels of collective memory. She combines authentic photographs from her family archive with fragments of Belarusian sacred architecture—which functions as her spiritual archive and the quintessence of Belarusian authenticity. She places these elements within irrational, dreamlike spaces governed by the laws of recollection and mysticism, rather than physical reality.
Through this collision of private archive and cultural heritage, individual memory expands into the larger history of her people. Ines Fragm's artwork addresses the search for home, belonging, intergenerational connection, and the fragility of cultural memory—not as nostalgia, but as a search for an inner home that can survive external change.
