Description
This conceptual mixed media print combines 1940s analog family photography with digital images of architectural landmarks in Grodno, exploring historical memory and heritage. The artist embeds private family archives into the collective memory of the place to preserve her lineage from oblivion. In the context of modern global transience, these collages serve as a search for an inner ground, where familial memory becomes the foundation.
To achieve this, the artist juxtaposes vintage analog portraits of her relatives within the digital space with the detailed texture of the Kalozha Church. As one of the oldest surviving Eastern Orthodox structures in Eastern Europe, dating back to the 12th century, the church is celebrated for its unique architectural anatomy. Its ancient plinthite masonry and majolica crosses serve here as metaphors for the continuity of generations. This visual narrative is complemented by the silhouettes of the Franciscan Church and the Neman River embankment, marking a precise geography and the spirit of the place (genius loci). By examining family history through the prism of sacred architecture, the author builds a living bridge between private archives and the shared past of the city.
TECHNIQUE, AUTHENTICITY & SHIPPING
The artwork is printed on a premium matte Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm paper using archival museum-grade pigment inks, ensuring exceptional longevity and color fidelity.

Presentation
Ines Fragm is a Belarusian-born visual artist with a professional background in architecture. Her work has been presented in international projects including Palimpsest of Memory by Culturally Arts Collective and Radiant Horizons by Sfumato Art Creatives in the United States. In 2025, she was selected for the Third and Final December Selection of the No Name Collective Gallery Challenge in London. Her work has also appeared in 101 Artbook – Collage Edition by Arts to Hearts Project and Photo Trouvée Magazine.
Working with digital collage and mixed media, Ines Fragm explores family, cultural, historical, and architectural memory. Her practice grew from a search for continuity, local cultural roots, and an inner sense of belonging in an era of global social instability.
Drawing on more than two decades of professional experience in architecture, Ines Fragm treats buildings not simply as structures, but as vessels of collective memory. She combines authentic photographs from her family archive with fragments of Belarusian sacred architecture—which functions as her spiritual archive and the quintessence of Belarusian authenticity. She places these elements within irrational, dreamlike spaces governed by the laws of recollection and mysticism, rather than physical reality.
Through this collision of private archive and cultural heritage, individual memory expands into the larger history of her people. Ines Fragm's artwork addresses the search for home, belonging, intergenerational connection, and the fragility of cultural memory—not as nostalgia, but as a search for an inner home that can survive external change.
