Description
This artwork is a striking mixed-media collage that melds vintage aesthetics with modern conceptualism. Dominating the piece is a monochrome photograph of a torso clad in a checkered sweater under a formal jacket, evoking mid-century style. The subject's head is deliberately obscured by layers of overlapping papers, each with distinct textures and hues. Notable among these is a bold piece labeled “room temperature,” which adds a cryptic, intriguing element. The collage integrates fragments of documents, grids, and pastel-colored sheets that suggest themes of identity and anonymity. The rough, layered application gives a sense of depth and fragmentation, inviting viewers to explore the hidden narrative. This artwork masterfully combines texture, abstraction, and figurative elements to create a compelling visual dialogue.

Presentation
Roberto Fonfría lives and works in Miami, Fl. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1969. Roberto Fonfría creates stories through a random mix of found images, photographs, drawings, and words. He combines these elements and builds layers and textures using acrylics, common objects, and collage. His work explores human behavior and social rules with a critic eye and humor, touching on personal themes such as dreams, fears, and memories. The images come from old magazines, advertising and photo albums collected at thrift stores. By extracting them from their natural context, he reconstructs them by adding references to popular culture as well as common phrases and insights that come from his Venezuelan childhood.
