Description
This model was produced as part of Vincent Lamouroux's "Projection" work in Los Angeles in 2015. It is, with the photographs that the artist took at the time, the testimony of his ephemeral work which has so much fascinated by its blinding whiteness against the blue sky of Los Angeles. Vincent Lamouroux is offering for sale for the first time the traces of this great project which has become a reality.
The model made by the artist is in wood covered with white paint which takes up the effect of the lime applied to the building during "Projection". The set is placed on a base and under a Plexiglas cover for good conservation.
The Sunset Pacific Motel, abandoned for several years now, is now doomed to imminent destruction. Vincent Lamouroux takes advantage of this long-awaited moment to broadcast the various achievements born on the sidelines of "Projection".
From his first trips to the United States, the French artist became interested in this vernacular architecture typical of the 1960s, located in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles. The scale of the building, its perfect match with the environment, the simplicity of its design immediately seduce him. The artist perceives the great accuracy of everything that composes it, including the elements added to it: "the Sunset Pacific Motel sign, the billboard and the surrounding palm trees, these three elements, are essential amenities of the architecture. They are somewhat the totems of this modernist architecture which cannot be told without its flag. Only the sign says what it is”.

Presentation
After making a projection on a disused former motel on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in 2015, Vincent Lamouroux – Prize of the Pernod Ricard corporate foundation in 2006 – develops a brand new sculptural project in California from the invisible aerial spaces above of our heads. His sculpture is based on the conventions of cartography and aerial surveys. An invisible space now at your fingertips!
