Description
Winged Demon is a polished bronze sculpture in the Monsters series by contemporary artist Marcelo Martin Burgos. The artwork represents a monster that looks like a small demon standing on one leg, with its two horns and wings.
Marcelo Burgos' artistic universe is deeply rooted in childhood: children's dreams and nightmares, populated by fantastic creatures, demons, monsters and dragons, provide the artist with his first source of inspiration. Far from being frightening, these creatures, with their golden surfaces, evoke statues of divinity that provide both protection and comfort.

Presentation
Marcelo Martin Burgos was born in La Plata, Argentina, in 1971.
In his own words, “A kid could have done that" is perhaps the single, biggest compliment I pursue with my work. I've spent most of my life trying to unlearn art school, to forget art history and to dismantle the notion of the self, looking to regain the true sense of freedom and joy I had making art as a young boy."
He currently lives and works in between Madrid and Buenos Aires where he complements his career as a sculptor with his work as a filmmaker.
