Description
This intriguing sculpture is a vibrant and dynamic masterpiece, embodying a perfect harmony between balance and color. Composed of thin layers of paper glued, compressed and then sculpted, this stacked work stands majestically. The multi-colored layers, arranged in striped patterns, give an impression of movement and depth. Each captivates the eye with its vibrant nuances, ranging from bright tones to softer hues, despite the matte finish and the absence of paint. This dynamic combination of colors gives the work a palpable energy. The apparent balance of forms is particularly remarkable. The volumes seem to defy gravity, which demonstrates exceptional technical mastery. Each element of the sculpture is precisely arranged, which captivates and intrigues. The work invites the viewer to turn around it, revealing changing perspectives. This creation is not only a visual object, but also a reflection on movement and balance in a dance of light and color.
This sculpture is made without paint. The colors are those of the paper.
Work signed at the base.
Matte varnish finish.
Sculpted paper technique: superposition of pieces of colored paper glued, compressed and then sculpted.
Presentation
Fabrice Lettron is a French self-self-taugh artist born in 1965 who lives & works in Montargis, France. He practices the technique of sculpted paper. It consists in gluing several thousands of small pieces of coloured paper manually, then compressing them and once dry, they are sculpted or machined. There is no painting. Colours are those from the paper. Fabrice Lettron creates surrealist and abstract works in 3 dimensions. The virtues of paper leave infinite possibilities to his imagination.
