Description
This bold and inventive sculptural work is composed of a complex assemblage of multicolored sheets of paper. Paper cubes are stacked and aligned with extraordinary precision, forming two stylized figures. The first figure, upright, appears to be walking, while the second, crouching, embodies action and energy. Each cube, in various colors, contributes to a striking visual mosaic that captures the eye. The bright colors energize the whole and add a playful dimension.
Made without painting.
Signed work.
Matte varnish finish.
Paper Mosaic Technique: Superposition of pieces of colored paper glued, compressed, cut into cubes then assembled into a mosaic.
Presentation
Fabrice Lettron is a French self-self-taugh artist born in 1965 who lives & works in Montargis, France. He practices the technique of sculpted paper. It consists in gluing several thousands of small pieces of coloured paper manually, then compressing them and once dry, they are sculpted or machined. There is no painting. Colours are those from the paper. Fabrice Lettron creates surrealist and abstract works in 3 dimensions. The virtues of paper leave infinite possibilities to his imagination.
