Description
This artwork captures the dynamic essence of a horse's head made from vibrant mosaics. Each intricately fitted tesserae composes a symphony of vibrant colors—blue, green, red, and yellow—merging to create a striking, contemporary representation. The circle surrounding the horse's head adds a captivating visual dimension, providing a rich, textured contrast. The bold use of geometric shapes imbues the horse with an almost lifelike energy, evoking movement and power. This artistic assemblage challenges traditional conventions, offering a bold, modern reinterpretation of the classic subject. The piece invites reflection on the interplay between form and color, while captivating the viewer with its aesthetic innovation and technical mastery.
Presentation
His inspiration is formed during numerous trips to the Maghreb and Southern Europe, particularly to Ravenna, Italy. The Arab-Andalusian civilization and its marvelous azulejos, Orientalism with artists like Gustave Guillaumet or Jean Bouchaud, and Odorico fils, are all references that nourish him to create a mosaic that is both of high quality and adapted to popular urban planning.
