Description
In this way, the works make the invisible visible: light consists of electromagnetic waves that our eyes perceive as color. The frequency of these waves determines which color we see: Short wavelengths produce violet and blue tones, longer red and orange tones. This science can be experienced in the color-changing reflections of the material - not abstractly, but sensually. The sculptures live from the interplay with their surroundings - they react to light, perspective and the movement of the viewer.
In the new group of works (Kringelment, inspired by “Lineament"), the individual levels of the squiggles, which seem to stand in exciting contrast to the concrete surfaces, are inconspicuously connected to each other, creating a kind of texture / structure of moving lines of different lengths.
Presentation
Selçuk Dizlek (born 1976 in Schweinfurt) studied at the Nuremberg Art Academy; he is a sculptor, but in his work groups he very subtly blurs the boundaries between painting, object, relief, sculpture, interaction and light art. Time and again, the line emerges as a unifying design element, whether as a sculptural space-occupying "drawing" or as luminous light tracks.
Dizlek's sculptures are geometrically abstract/concrete.
In his œuvre there is a variety of materials: plexiglass, metal, concrete, ceramic tiles and, above all, the fascination of "light", which is used as a sculptural material. Light boxes or sculptures, light steles or sculptures, and color space objects or reliefs made of reflective, fluorescent, and translucent materials such as Plexiglas have been a focus for many years.
