Description
This captivating sculpture depicts a seated female figure, revealing a duality of textures and colors. Made of patinated bronze, the figure boasts a verdant hue that contrasts beautifully with the silver metal ring that surrounds it. This ring, adorned with patterns reminiscent of snowflakes or clouds, appears to float around her, adding an ethereal, escapist dimension. The woman's posture, with one arm delicately raised, suggests contemplation and connection with the environment. Her serene expression and refined chignon add a touch of timeless elegance. Through a subtle interplay between the solid body and the ethereal ring, the work explores themes of freedom and confinement, embodying a perfect harmony between the material and the intangible. This exceptional piece invites reflection while celebrating the balance between the inner and outer worlds.
Presentation
Pere Sala presents a work of classical root but with very contemporary connotations, both in terms of the theme and the great dynamism of its compositions.
His bronzes remind us of the great masters of the 19th century, due to their great mastery of technique, finishes and patinae. The artist wisely models female and male bodies in equilibrium positions but never forced, capturing with great delicacy the energy, beauty and indolence of youth until it reaches the viewer's emotion.
