Description
This intriguing sculpture depicts a woman in a faceless astronaut suit, emphasizing a fascinating anonymity. The bronze sculpture is executed with a metallic gray finish, which adds a futuristic dimension to the work. The meticulously detailed folds of the suit suggest a realistic texture, while the perfectly smooth helmet contrasts with the rest of the outfit. The upright, slightly forward posture gives a sense of subtle movement, reinforcing the idea of exploration and discovery. Placed on a black plinth, the whole draws the eye upward, accentuating its presence. This work embodies the fusion of humanity and technology, inviting the viewer to reflect on notions of identity and evolution in an increasingly space-oriented world.
Presentation
Jimmy decided to start creating his own sculptures. Inspired by his youth and his fascination with astronauts and space, he created the ASTROMAN collection.
“All the sculptures revolve around astronauts and space. I depict male astronauts, female astronauts, and even space dogs in recognizable everyday situations. Inspiration comes from (famous) images, paintings, films, and songs. Each bronze sculpture tells a new, unique, and vivid story."
