Description
This captivating sculpture, cast in rich bronze, presents a unique, abstract form that commands attention. The artwork features a human head with elongated proportions, seamlessly blending the line between realism and abstraction. Its smooth surface captures subtle reflections, adding depth and intrigue. The head tilts back with closed eyes, suggesting a moment of introspection or serenity. Notably, the oversized, rounded cranium contrasts with the slender neck, embodying a striking balance between mass and delicacy. The minimalist approach invites viewers to interpret the emotion and essence uniquely, while the exquisite craftsmanship highlights the artist's skill in manipulating form and texture. This sculpture stands as a testament to modernist innovation, evoking a profound sense of wonder and contemplation.
Presentation
Florence Grivot, born in 1965 in Pithiviers, lives and works in Nancy.
In the 1980s, sculpture revealed itself to her through the transformation of a block of stone into a calm and serene human head. The emotion and the feeling of existence evoked by this creation are undeniable.
The story continues thanks to the encounter with a teacher: Fernando Moreno Robledo, who trains her in modeling and molding.
She registered as a visual artist at the Maison des Artistes in 2003.
Since then, she has responded to commissions and engaged in eclectic productions of sculptures and installations, for public and private spaces.
To this day, her time remains divided between her own creative work and supporting the work of others, respecting their uniqueness.
