Description
A black line, taut as a breath, traces in space a script that is both intimate and universal. The metal, thin and vibrant, traces a heartbeat that transforms into a word, then becomes rhythm again, oscillating between a vital signal and a calligraphic gesture.
The sculpture seems suspended between stability and vibration: anchored to its base, yet always ready to spring forth. Each curve evokes the passage of time, the emotion that arises, love, or memory inscribed in movement. The line is never fixed; it undulates, rises, falls, like a visual echo of human rhythms.
Minimalist and expressive, the work captures the eye with its apparent simplicity, then gradually reveals its symbolic power: a silent, elegant presence that dialogues with the space and invites one to feel rather than read.
In this metallic script, one can also discern the imprint of Michael Jackson: the energy of a body in motion, the musicality of a gesture that has become his signature. The wire seems to dance, like a step suspended between silence and beat, between the stage and eternity.
Presentation
When metal becomes emotion…
Yannick Bouillault's studio is located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in western France. It is in the face of this vast expanse that he has forged a close connection with creation since a young age. Trained in boilermaking, he first worked as a technician before devoting himself fully to sculpture in 2016, driven by a spontaneous and visceral impulse.
Passionate about materials—mainly steel—and fueled by philosophy, Yannick Bouillault strives to reveal the hidden beauty of metal. With his technical mastery, he transforms this raw, cold material into a vehicle for emotion. Each work is born from a dialogue between reflection and feeling, between tension and calm.
Curious about phenomena and attentive to the energy of the world, he draws inspiration from both movement and absence, from the visible and the invisible. In his work, realism and surrealism intertwine to give birth to sculptures that are both powerful and sensitive. Playing with shapes and colors, he gives metal an unexpected lightness, sometimes even a poetic grace.
A self-taught sculptor, Yannick Bouillault has established himself as a unique voice in contemporary metal. His works, exhibited in France and abroad, now travel the world, driven by a universal emotion.
All of the artist's sculptures are designed and crafted entirely by him. Each piece comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
