Description
"Between gravity and breath,
He's learning about balance.
Sol air is a suspension:
the precise moment when weight becomes possibility.
This captivating sculpture depicts a stylized bird crafted from recycled metal. With a body in varying shades of copper and green, the patina gives the piece a rich and dynamic texture. The bird rests on a single, slender, elegant leg, attached to a solid, circular base of raw metal. The angular lines and geometric shapes of the head and tail lend a striking modernity. Each element is meticulously assembled, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship. This work stands out for its ability to harmoniously blend abstraction and realism while evoking movement and life. A perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication.
Presentation
Born in Chile in 1960, Sergio Munoz also known as Pinto is a sculptor. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Valparaiso before moving to France, where he studied drawing.
The artist uses several materials: wood, metal, leather and stone. In his hands, the materials dialogue and fuse, making his pieces unique. We pass from the ordinary beauty of the material to a sublime beauty. Painting is also present, and enriches his creations. Pablo Neruda's poems are also a source of inspiration for the artist.
Pinto exhibits his work in France, Germany and Switzerland since 1991. We could see his work in Geneva in 2007 and at the Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Carrousel Du Louvre in 2008, in Paris.
