Description
This artwork, created in an edition of eight by Fabien Novarino, features Steve McQueen, with two photographs taken on the set of the film "Le Mans." A variety of motifs, including graffiti, inscriptions, and retro images, form a dynamic patchwork around Steve McQueen. The word "ROCK" in orange letters dominates the upper section, adding a musical and energetic dimension to the piece.
Printing on plexiglass produces an Ice Kub that is solid yet lightweight due to the transparency of the material.
Presentation
Fabien Novarino is a celebrated French contemporary artist known for his dynamic fusion of pop culture, street art, and Neo Pop aesthetics. Born in 1963 in Chambéry, near the French Alps, Novarino was deeply influenced by nature and open landscapes, which shaped his early artistic vision. After a career in the commercial sector, he fully embraced his passion for art at the age of 27, exhibiting at major Parisian salons including the Salon des Indépendants and Salon d'Automne from 1990.
Novarino's early work focused on expressive Provence landscapes, painted in vibrant oils with bold knife techniques. Over time, his style evolved into a colorful, urban-inspired approach that reflects the energy of cities like Paris, New York, and Marrakech.
Since 2010, Novarino has developed a distinctive Neo Pop language, mixing photography, graffiti, collage, stencils, and drawing. His works celebrate iconic figures from cinema, comics, music, and street culture, placing him firmly among leading pop culture artists and street-art inspired creators in contemporary art.
Novarino has also pioneered innovative 3D sculptures in metal and acrylic glass, featuring layered compositions that offer a unique, multidimensional experience.
