Description
This resin sculpture revisits childlike imagery with a critical gaze. The Lyon artist uses the silhouette of a bear to question the mechanisms of our society.
The dominant motif takes up the graphic codes of the banknote. The numbers, official seals, and monetary inscriptions cover the entire form.
This approach is in line with Pop Art and Street Art. The contrast is striking between the softness of the subject and the coldness of the financial symbol.
The object thus becomes a mirror of contemporary aspirations. It highlights the tension between innocence and the quest for wealth.
The precise work on the resin allows for a clear rendering of the typographical details. The smooth and glossy aspect accentuates the artificial character of this piece.
The composition plays on a palette of grays, whites, and touches of green. The whole rests on a seated and stable posture.
Presentation
Naor is a French artist from Lyon born in 1988. Completely anchored in his time, he has always traveled a lot around the world. If travels form youth, Naor was inspired by it. From the top of his thirty years, he succeeded in retranscribing his observations, his feelings and his impressions. Thanks to his childlike supports, his contemporary details, he achieves a delicious harmony between softness and violence. This discrepancy constitutes his identity. Like life, marked by hardship, his works refer us to our own experiences. Finally, the use of luxury brands in a spirit of "Pop'art" allows him to pay homage or to denounce the way our societies function. Naor interprets the world with his child's eyes.
