Description
This ceramic sculpture recontextualizes an ephemeral symbol to explore the codes of luxury. The object adopts the shape of a balloon, frozen in a permanent material. The deep green of the surface, worked in acrylic, immediately evokes a prestigious imagination.
The golden logo asserts itself in the center of the composition. This chromatic contrast highlights the tension between the suggested lightness of the inflatable and the density of the material. The approach is in line with the current of contemporary Pop Art.
The artist confronts here childhood and social aspirations. The balloon, an object of play, becomes the support of an emblematic brand. This fusion questions our relationship to desire and consumption.
The glossy aspect reinforces the decorative dimension of this wall piece. The precision of the technical rendering brings a refined finish to the whole. The work ends with a realistic detail at the fastening knot.
Presentation
MVR (Massimiliano Ventura Rigante) was born in Turin in 1991.
He has always been passionate about drawing and at these twenty years he began an artistic career. Mainly engaged in painting, his subjects are cartoonist and Disney comic book characters, which he skillfully mixes with the most iconic luxury brands. Continuous research which reveals how much the human soul always needs our childish side, made of dreams and pleasure, the same which, when we grow up, makes us desire "the good life".
