Totem Ve?nusien laiton patine vert-de-gris 17, 2026

Stéphane Szendy

This sculpture by Szendy Stephane explores the meeting between noble materials. It rises as a contemporary totem. The gaze follows a rigorous vertical line. The black, dark, and dense base anchors the whole with stability.
The body then unfolds through a work of vertical striations that rhythmize the material. This textured aspect contrasts with the fluidity of the upper curves. Two stylized arms open towards the top. They support a leaf-like shape, evoking a verdigris leaf or flame.
The use of brass brings a golden light. The bluish patina at the top creates a singular focal point. Each detail testifies to the precision of a goldsmith. The dialogue between the metal and the patina emphasizes a search for balance. This piece combines sobriety and elegance. It is distinguished by a play of chromatic and tactile contrasts. The whole rests on a matte black cylindrical pedestal.
