Description
This captivating wooden sculpture presents two slender figures, intertwined in a silent dance. The clean, elongated forms create an elegant symbiosis, perhaps symbolizing harmony and human connection. The work's smooth, polished contours capture the light, accentuating the delicate curves and natural texture of the wood. Strategically placed within a modern setting, the piece engages with its surroundings, adding visual depth. The absence of facial details focuses on the universality of the human experience. The robust base supports the ethereal forms, while suggesting stability in the face of fluidity. This work is an homage to the timeless beauty of simple forms and the power of raw material, inviting the viewer to introspective reflection on connection and identity.
Presentation
Stéphane Szendy, the art of sublimated matter.
Contemporary sculptor, Stéphane Szendy shapes wood, bronze, resin, glass and enamel with a mastery worthy of a jeweler. Drawing his inspiration from nature and the history of art, he creates stylized works with clean lines, evoking totems or timeless trophies. Each sculpture is distinguished by a subtle play of textures and patinas, giving a unique depth to his creations.
Trained in Fine Arts and heir to family know-how, Szendy Stéphane cultivates an extreme attention to detail, even to the bases of his works. His work, marked by a rigor and a rare artistic sensitivity, transcends the material to arouse emotion and contemplation. Since 2000, he has exhibited in numerous fairs and participates each year in Maison & Objet. Distinguished by the Arts-Sciences-Lettres medal in 2011, he has been a member of the Ateliers d'Art de France since 2006.
