Description
A master of contemporary optical art. Born in the Venezuelan Andes and based in Texas. He breathes new life into the Op art tradition. This artwork explores the intersection of geometry and perception. Soft white planes stack in precise layers. They create a subtle sense of depth. A delicate pink glow emerges from the edges. This backlight transforms the static form into a luminous experience. The composition feels weightless. It challenges the eye to distinguish between surface and void. The minimalist approach focuses on pure sensory movement. Each line is clean. Each angle is deliberate. Light becomes a physical material. The piece invites a meditative state of observation. It radiates a calm yet powerful energy. The soft luminescence defines the structural boundaries of the square.
Presentation
Ender Martos is an award-winning artist who resides in Austin, Texas. He is best known for creating impactful sensory experiences of optical movement that engage the viewer's curiosity and perception.
Ender was born in Mérida, a city located in the Venezuelan Andes. Ender believes that having grown up in one of the most diverse countries profoundly impacted his work. Martos's colorful three-dimensional installations have been celebrated all over the world. His work has been exhibited in Chicago, Mexico City, Monterrey, Miami, Houston, Marfa, Dallas, Austin, and other cities. Multiple transnational corporations have commissioned Ender's public art installations (Facebook/Meta, Charles Schwab, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, SpaceX, etc.), as well as cities and municipalities.
Ender earned a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2023, Ender was selected as one of the Top 25 Creative Revolutionaries by the prestigious CODAworx, which judges the best public art created in the United States and internationally.
