Description
"The calm of the storm" The sculpture, which seems to follow the rhythm of a fierce wind and represents for the artist a storm, nevertheless brings a sweet serenity to the place where it is exposed. The contrast between the strength of movement in the sculpture and the tranquility of the environment creates an aesthetic tension that attracts the eye of visitors. You can almost feel the breeze that drives the figure. It seems to float in weightlessness. This duality between movement and immobility, strength and serenity, is what makes this sculpture so fascinating and poetic. It invites to meditation and to find the balance between agitation and inner peace. Storm is a theme created by the artist Guillaume Roche. Through these polished curves and deep striations, it expresses the strength of the elements and the points of balance between matter and space. Circulation, torsion, the artist digs here the energy created by the movement of the earth and winds.
Presentation
Energy of Movement, Mineral radiance, Balance of composition
Guillaume Roche creates stainless steel sculptures with powerful lines and aerial movements. The artiste, graduated from the National School of Applied Arts of Paris, is born in France and works in his studio near Paris.
His search of form is based on the transformation of raw material. Energy and eruption are the key words of his works, while his shapes are purified and softened by the erosion of time.
Stillness after the storm!
A mineral spirit blows on his sculptures. The life bloods of nature are his source of inspiration: chaos of stones, ever changing winds, camaieux of the sea, clear or violent skies. From his works comes out a sense of ultimate poetry. His mastership of evanescent colors and the luminosity of stainless steel shaded from white to black are to be noted. His works, with its controlled stability are right at the limit of fulcrum and invite us in a world where duality is pacified.
