Description

"Sursis," from the Hiver Éternel collection, offers a contemporary and abstract interpretation of the winter season and nature. Dominated by black and white tones, it expresses a form of joy despite the chromatic sobriety. This painting expresses the confrontation of the seasons in a changing world, where winter, once a symbol of rest and renewal for nature, seems destabilized by climate change and growing urbanization. It highlights the transformation of the natural cycle of the seasons, disrupted by human activity, emphasizing winter as a season losing its bearings.

Winter here is no longer what it used to be. It stretches, fades in places, and warms abnormally. On the left, the traditional house and the snowy landscape evoke a winter of yesteryear, marked by a silent nature frozen beneath the snow. Bare trees raise their skeletal branches toward a white sky, while a dark body of water, instead of being frozen, seems to absorb the cold and transform it into a disturbing spiral. Blocks of ice float, but their metallic sheen evokes more an artificial material than an untouched nature, suggesting a disrupted season, where the frost gradually gives way under the effect of climate change.

To the right, the scene changes tone: the city expands, its modern, glass-enclosed architecture attempting to capture the winter light and blend into the environment. Yet this integration is illusory. The landscaped terrace contrasts with winter, as if this season no longer truly exists, as if urban comforts had managed to erase it. The snow is there, but it seems more decorative than truly felt. In the distance, skyscrapers rise, imposing their presence on a landscape that once followed the immutable cycle of the seasons. The night sky is dominated by a slightly blurred moon, almost hidden by light pollution. The verticality of the buildings suggests an inevitable expansion of civilization, while the glass structure seeks to blend into the snowy natural landscape, like a clumsy attempt at harmony with the environment.

This work captures winter as a moment of change between what it was and what it is becoming. Once, it was a season of rest, of bitter cold and landscapes frozen under ice; now, it is an uncertain winter, where nature struggles against a climate that no longer follows its laws. The cycle of the seasons is threatened: winter is here, but it already bears the scars of a spring that came too early, of a nature that no longer knows when to slow down, when to fall asleep. The transitions between these different paintings, whether figurative or abstract, blend harmoniously, symbolizing both the beauty and vulnerability of winter. This composition offers a poetic and committed vision of the cold season, oscillating between nostalgia and environmental awareness. This canvas thus invites us to reflect on our relationship to the seasons, to the Earth and to the fragile balance that governs our environment, by showing us a winter that, far from being eternal, could well become a season of the past.

Eco-Impressionism:

When Contemporary Art Paints the Living and Awakens Consciences

The artist Thomas Jeunet is developing his own movement, a fusion of Impressionism and contemporary ecological awareness.

Inspired by a dialogue between humans and nature, to capture the energy of landscapes, the fragility of ecosystems and the resilience of the world.

Painting for me is a committed act: a way to bear witness, awaken, and celebrate the ephemeral beauty of our planet, through the memories of my life, told like a story on a canvas.

A French artist inspired by the color palettes of the four seasons, I draw my energy from the natural elements that surround us. The changing light of day, the dance of foliage in the wind, the rhythm of the tides, and the rustling of the undergrowth influence my creations, imbued with the deep, vibrant hues of life.

My works reflect the harmony between man and nature, capturing the fleeting moment when emotion and environment become one.

My paintings are said to be captivating and rich in energy, like an ecosystem in perpetual motion. They convey the power of the elements, the gentleness of a sunset on the horizon, the freshness of morning dew, or the vitality of fertile soil ready to bloom.

It seems that my paintings transform experience into pure emotion, offering each person an intimate connection with nature and its infinite variations. They are a call to slow down, to observe, to fully feel the present moment, to reconnect with the very essence of life.

Explore my gallery and let yourself be carried away on a sensory journey where art and nature converse in a universal language.

Each of my paintings is an invitation to contemplation, to artistic escape, but also to an awareness: that of the fragile beauty of the world around us and of our role as guardians of this precious balance.

“My life memories form an immense photographic film. To the rhythm of the four seasons, as if in a nod to the genius composer Antonio Vivaldi, these mental photographs become stories in color. They capture the dance of the wind in the foliage, the murmur of streams winding between the stones, and the symphony of birds greeting the dawn.

I transcribe my interpretations on canvas like concertos in an opera, chapters in a novel, or columns in a newspaper. Each brushstroke is an ode to the nourishing earth, to the fragility of ecosystems, and to the resilience of life. My art is intended to reflect a world where the environment is a necessity, where the beauty of landscapes reminds us of the urgency of preserving them.

Thus, each work becomes a vibrant tribute to nature, an awakening of consciences in the face of the challenges of climate change, threatened biodiversity and sustainable development. Because true harmony lies in our ability to coexist with the living, to cultivate a balanced relationship with our planet, and to inscribe our passage in a gentler imprint.
