Biography
Joaquín Martínez Cano Studied Fine Arts at the University of San Carlos in Valencia and at the University of San Fernando in Madrid. He teaches drawing at the University of Cantabria since 1976.
In 1980 he was awarded a scholarship by the Center for the Promotion of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture. He won the first prize of the Biennale María Blanchard in Cantabria and the First Prize at the National Contest Prize of the Painting Circle Torrelavega, Cantabria.
Joaquín Martínez Cano has had numerous solo and group exhibitions and participated in meetings of artists in Europe. His works can be found in major museums and art collections in Spain, such as the Mational Art Museum Reina Sofia in Madrid Centro, the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias and the Museum of Fine Arts of Santander or Northern Collection of Cantabria Region.
