Kementaris

Born in: 1983

France

Kementaris is a French artist born in 1983 and originally from Drôme. He uses a pseudonym to maintain a certain anonymity. Passionate about drawing from a young age, he plans to do his job but is denied entry to the School of Fine Arts. He then reoriented himself to industry, but always in drawing. He discovers photography a few years later and starts to photo-manipulation. As a child of the "digital generation," he draws his inspiration from cinema, comics, video games and the work of artists such as Jules Verne, Salvador Dali, H.R Giger and H.P Lovecraft. Passionate about cultures and arts of all kinds, he likes to mix genres through his works. He defines his art as science fiction but in a more precise and less recognized branch called "streampunk" or "retrofuturism". In his work, he associates biology and mechanics in this particular style where we find influences of science fiction, fantasy and even mythology. Kementaris works 100% digital, on software specializing in photo manipulation and these combinations of images give amazing results that stir up the spectator's curiosity.
