Viktoria Sölweg

Born in: 1967 France

Viktoria Sölweg

I believe that we too often view the world through a singular and narrow lens, only allowing our habitual and empirical experiences to inform our perspective. Through my work, I hope to widen that lens, even if it at the smallest degree.

My hope is to transcend traditional interpretations of experience and to reimagine the familiar. Intended to feel elusive, I invite the viewer to envision the potential of each piece in their own regard, thereby making the final product one of collective consciousness.

Between inside and outside, there is no limit, no precise limit, no precise limit, no beginning or end, it is a movement that continues without frost. Is the face absorbent?

Is the horizon printed? We don't really know and we don't want to know, we can't. Yet there seems to be harmony. The world of Viktoria Solweg, where a real dialogue and the enchantment, is not without concern, it is a lake of the night, a sea of memory that extends to an afterlife.

Orbital or zygomatic regions, desert countries haunted by shadows and eternity, regions temporalities, dream cities, parietal regions, petal territories, supra-regions clavicular, a universe where the body is the space of a poem. They are all Viktoria Solweg these landscape characters, where sailboats sail, stand towers, the cross riveted metal bridges, arabesques swirl while the skin breathes and melts, offers and fades. There is no more under or above, it has the fusion of being with around, the gaze and the world, the soul inside and outside.

We think of the Arcimboldo of a new Renaissance, of a modern romanticism in which the forgotten in the emotion of a shiver. Viktoria Solweg, with tact and grace.

For many years now, ART SHOPPING at LE CARROUSEL DU LOUVRE PARIS is one of the most attended art exhibition for art specialists and professional buyers. Art lovers are able to observe in detail the works of French and international artists and for the public, it is an opportunity to discover the world of art.

Amongst the collections of exhibits and buzzing visitors at this event, my attention was drawn towards a collection of beautiful graphic images which I discovered upon close preview that they were actually hand-painted images, and where I met the host who is the painter herself - Viktoria Sölweg.

Each of Viktoria's paintings are colourful & enticing,  her artwork reflecting a sensitive portrayal of the human mind: Somewhere lost in time between today, yesterday and the future.

The feeling is particularly intensive, sensitive, and emotional. Her art speaks about a mission that defines why they exist, what they hope to accomplish and how they interact with the world around them.

About me :

I was born on january the 6th 1967 and my name is Viktoria Sölweg.

Since my memory can go back i have always love drawing and creating.

I wanted to be a fashion designer at the age of 12.

But my parents did not want her daughter to be an "artist" so they have another plan for me to be an architect.

During 45 years i have worked in differents area, tourism architecture, medicine, but i have never felt at the right place deeply in my heart.

One day, after playing piano with a good friend, he told me : Viktoria you are an artist, why don't you do what you are made for in this life ?

I don't know why, i don 't know how but just few days after what he said i have stopped straight all my activities and decide to became the real Viktoria, what i always wanted to do : paint sculpt and create.

Now this is 7 years that i have accomplish my dream, and i feel so happy and peaceful to be where my heart always wanted to be.

I want to change this world in the way i can, this is why when my paintings and creations will be at their best levels i want to build a new school for children.

A school where there is no competition but empathy. A school where each children will find the rose he has to take care to make it florish later on. A school where each children will find its own treasure.

Everything is possible every dream is possible you just have to believe in yourself and find your own jewel inside you.

Nowadays i live a life full of harmony.

And i wish this travel to everyone.
