Inspired by Camilla d’Errico

Camilla D'Errico is an Italian-Canadian artist who has made waves in the fine art and comic book industries with her manga-influenced style. A prolific artist, Camilla is a comic book artist and surrealist pop painter. In addition to her work in the traditional art scene, she has undertaken several commercial projects throughout her career, including her work in vinyl, the toy industry, board games, comic books and coloring books. She has even extended her artistic style into the world of fashion and accessories. With her growing popularity, her artistic endeavors are truly limitless.

Camilla currently resides on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. She has distinguished herself by her ability to seamlessly weave comics and manga with surreal elements. Her work's appeal derives from its emotional impact on the viewer. Through her energy, dedication and unwavering creativity, she has been able to realize her dream of making a living working creatively.

When asked where her inspiration comes from, Camilla assumes that her ideas are guided by the world around her. She is inspired by many things, from other art and music, to words and patterns that catch her eye. Sometimes she gets an idea for a detail or a color, and builds a piece around that. She feels that her work is very interpretive and emotional, and that it is interesting that one piece means something different to different people. Camilla is among many artists in the pop art, street art, contemporary art scene drawing on cartoon and manga influences. Other artists on Artsper such as Akemi Takada, Hiroaki Onuma, and Daru share her creative passion for producing emotive, playful art that draws on the inner-child in everyone!
