Description
This artwork is a captivating expression of abstract collage, bringing together an intriguing mix of textures and colors. The piece is dominated by dynamic splashes of earthy tones—rust, gold, and olive—interwoven with hints of blue and white. Fragmented pieces of newspaper or text are visibly incorporated, adding a narrative depth and texture to the surface. The layered effect creates a sense of chaos and harmony simultaneously, as if capturing a moment of transformation. The background is an amalgamation of distressed textures, giving the piece an aged and weathered feel. This artwork stands out for its bold use of mixed media and its ability to evoke emotion through a seemingly spontaneous assembly, inviting viewers to explore the juxtaposition of order and disorder. Its uniqueness lies in its tactile quality and the way it challenges the observer to find meaning amidst the abstract.
Presentation
Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.
The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.
The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.
We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
