Description
This striking artwork features a cylindrical structure adorned with a vibrant palette of oranges, yellows, and blacks, creating an abstract yet harmonious blend of colors reminiscent of a controlled explosion. The addition of thin, looping wires spiraling outward from the cylinder introduces an element of chaos and dynamism, evoking a sense of movement and energy. The juxtaposition of the structured form with the free-flowing wirework exemplifies a tension between order and disorder. Intricate markings and splatters enhance the textured surface, inviting viewers to explore the depth and complexity inherent in the composition. This piece stands as a bold statement on the interplay between human creativity and the untamed forces of nature, making it an intriguing focal point in any setting. Its unique combination of elements demands attention and prompts reflection on the balance of artistic structure and spontaneous expression.
Presentation
Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.
The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.
The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.
We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
