Description
This artwork is a dynamic explosion of color and texture, commanding attention with its layered construction. The base layer features vibrant hues of yellow and orange, creating an energetic and warm undertone. Black splatters punctuate the surface, adding depth and a sense of movement, reminiscent of abstract expressionism. The translucent overlay appears to be intricately crumpled, catching and manipulating light to create an engaging play of shadows and highlights. This texture adds a tactile element that invites the viewer to explore its complexity. The edges, slightly curled, contribute an organic quality, contrasting with the chaos within. This piece is a compelling exploration of contrast and harmony, where vibrant color meets raw form, evoking emotions and prompting imagination. Its boldness is balanced by subtle, nuanced details, making it a striking centerpiece in any collection.
Presentation
Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.
The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.
The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.
We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
