Description

This artwork is a dynamic exploration of color and form, featuring a striking composition of intertwined, translucent ribbons. These ribbons, seamlessly cascading across a dark canvas, create an intricate web of movement. They boast a vivid palette of blues, oranges, and yellows, blending into each other to evoke a sense of fluidity and transformation. The translucent nature of the materials allows underlying colors to shimmer through, adding depth and complexity. The contrast between the soft, ethereal ribbons and the solid, textured background underscores a fascinating interplay of rigidity and softness. This piece invites viewers to engage with its vivacious energy and appreciate the harmonious balance of chaos and structure. Its bold use of color and texture is both captivating and thought-provoking, making it a unique and memorable work of art.

Gotcha Gaios

Gotcha Gaios

Georgia  • 1969

Presentation

Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.

The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.

The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.

We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
