A graduate of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa, Désiré Kayamba has a rather unusual career since he first worked as a designer in a textile factory, before embracing an artistic career. A fan of knife painting, he admirably paints scenes of everyday Congolese life in a shimmering impressionist style.
