Biography

Materials are his passion. Caressing it, working it, giving it shape, very quickly became his reason for being.

He began by bringing marble, wood and stone to life, before turning to contemporary materials such as stainless steel, methacrylate and, finally, glass paste.

At last, we might say, because this is where he revels and where his art finds its fullness, when technique blends intimately with creative forms to give these mixtures of bold colours and reflections that only this molten paste can render and translate.

In 2001, Gilles VADEL decided to contribute to the industrial development of the Cristallerie Royale de Champagne by setting up a workshop specialising in the research and development of glass paste.
