Description
The artwork presented is a striking black and white illustration depicting a human figure in a posture of great humility and contemplation. The figure, dressed in a long, loose-fitting robe with detailed and meticulously rendered folds, is kneeling, bent over completely, with his head almost touching the ground. What immediately catches the eye is the elegance and precision of the folds of the garment, which not only add three-dimensional depth to the work but also demonstrate the artist's exceptional skill. The scene is bathed in a monochrome palette, accentuating the contrasts between light and shadow. This technique, mastered with evident virtuosity, gives a dramatic intensity to the image and highlights the texture of the fabric, as well as the tension and palpable emotion of the moment captured. Presentation
Emerging artist Nathan Chantob has trained to be a painter and illustrator in Belgium, but his artistic identity was shaped by his street experiences. Influenced by masters such as Egon Schiele, Freud or Munch, this young artist is also open to the influence of unknown artists that he gets to know when he makes graffiti.
Nathan Chantob works tirelessly, produces more and more powerful works, masters the techniques better and better and shares with us surprising emotions. He questions the viewers and captivates them through his unforgettable portraits. His work is marked by his recurrent use of beige paint, which he reveals in all its hues for his subject's skin colors.
Nathan Chantob has won several awards such as the Special Prize 2011 of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts (National Society of Fine Arts) at the Carrousel du Louvre.
